The Serious Illness Assistance Scheme has been brought by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. This scheme is especially for the construction workers and their families registered with the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Under this scheme, they will be provided assistance in the cost of treatment of critical illness. Generally this class is economically weak. In such a situation, if a member of the family gets a serious illness, it is very difficult to get them treated due to financial constraints. Sometimes in such circumstances the worker or his family member may even have to lose his life. In view of all these difficulties, the government has issued Critical Illness Assistance Scheme for this class.
Construction worker and his family comes under the Critical Illness Assistance Scheme Uttar Pradesh. His family consists of his wife, dependent unmarried daughter and his son below 21 years of age. If any of them get a serious illness, then the Uttar Pradesh government gives them financial assistance under this scheme for the cost of their treatment. After the treatment, the government pays the expenses incurred in this to the government and those private hospitals which come under its control.

Benefits of UP Serious Illness Assistance Scheme
Under the U.P gambhir bimari scheme, assistance will be given in the expenditure incurred in the treatment of serious diseases of the construction worker and his family registered with the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
If the worker and his dependents get his family members treated in a government hospital or a private hospital controlled by the state and central government, then the state government will pay the cost of treatment of his illness.
HOW TO APPLY UP SHADI ANUDAN YOJANA ?
If the persons availing the UP Gambhir Illness Assistance Scheme get their treatment done in those hospitals which are recognized by the National Health Insurance Scheme, Government of India, then the bill of treatment will be given directly to the hospitals.
There is no maximum limit on the amount for treatment under the Uttar Pradesh Gambhir Illness Sahayata Yojana. Therefore, the working class will not have to worry about paying the amount for the treatment.

There are certain eligibility conditions to get benefits under the UP Gambhir Illness Assistance Scheme. These are being told further. Keep reading further to know more.
Firstly the applicant should be a laborer who is engaged in construction work.
Such workers who are not eligible for benefits under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Arogya Yojana and Chief Minister Jan-Arogya Yojana.
The person who wants to take benefit under this scheme (Mukhyamantri Gambhir Illness Yojana Uttar Pradesh) should be financially weak.
The applicant should be a registered worker with the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
He himself and his family members (wife, unmarried dependent daughter, son below 21 years) are eligible under this scheme.
The labor beneficiary should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
The applicant or his dependents will get the benefit of the scheme only under the list of critical diseases given on the official website.
